i don't know how low your car is
i think it would give problems on the rear, because you need adapters too i think
very nice wheels though, but not on a mk 1

it will fitt if you put your springs higher.
what is the >>et<< of those wheels?
i have porsche's 8x16 an 9x16 under my mk1 and the et is 52,3.
with spacer of 25mm it wil fitt under your mk1.

damn et11, i think that won't work with spacers.

option 2:
make new holes in the wheels.
take a center ring that will fitt in the bbs wheels and take a 20mm spacer 4x100 that will fitt in the inside of the center ring.
take a drill and make 4 new holes.

but first put the 9x16 against the brake..., so you kan see if it is realy going to fitt before drilling new holes.

i hope you understand what i'm saying.

regards, berry

I'm with you 90%... re-drilling the wheels I get, but what do you mean about the center ring?
thanks!

well to get the center of the 4x100 spacer in the middel of the center of the porsche wheels.
so you can drill trough the 4x100 spacer holes, and know there on the right spot.
take a look at the attachments, mabey that would help :D

I know this is an old thread, but I'm about use a set of 8 and 9x16" BBS RS (Et62/36 ex-porsche wheels) on my mk1. I going to use 20mm adapters at the rear wheels, but I'm more concerned with the 40mm adapters I'm think of using on the front, not giving me enough space between the spring on the coil-overs and the inside of the wheel.

How much space was it between the wheel and the spring when you lowered the car?

Are there more pics of the car with the 8 and 9"x16" wheels?

I will try, but I don't have the coil-over suspension yet.

I tried with 20mm spacers on the rear. The outside lip on the wheel protude 12-15mm from the edge of the wheel arch (with out the plastic GTI wheel arch which I'm going to use). On the front it shouldn't be a problem as the wheel arches are all ready modified to take my 8x15" ET 18 BBS RS.
Picture of my Front wheel arch with a 8x15" ET 18 wheel (http://www.home.no/mk1classic/Project/117-1729_IMG.JPG) and rear wheel arch with a 8x15" ET 18 wheel) (http://www.home.no/mk1classic/Project/117-1735_IMG.JPG)

They might be to big, but almost everyone have 8x15" on their mk1 golfs. I think "BigRon" is build a mk1 Golf now with his old BBS RS 16" wheels They were 8 and 9x16" if I remember correct.

Pics found in the gallery from the M.I.V.W Leiden show.
