The picture was taken at the Olympic Stadium (1976 Olympic Games) in Montreal. ;)

There was a full feature report on this one in the PVW... however it wasn't completely finished yet.. didn't have the Huge Subs in the trunk yet.

Anyway it's the first Triple Turbo'ed VW.

What I wonder however is the set up of the Turbo's. I noticed they are mounted in paralell and all blow out into just one intakemanifold. Usually they either are mounted in series from small to large.. or are divided into more intakes, for instance every Turbo for 2 cilinders.... Can anyone shine a light on this? Why should they choose for this sett-up?

First of all, and very obviously, the show-effect

But secondly:
With 3 smaller turbo's your turbo's rev quicker, resulting in a higher boost at lower rpm.
The 3 turbo's combined, deliver enough flow to feed the engine in the higher revs.
And that all turbo's spit in one manifold is no unsual bussines, look at line engines equipped with 2 turbo's, the majority uses 1 manifold.

I've seen this car 2 weeks ago.

The sound is awesome!!!

The Golf pick-up theme is one of a kind too. :D
