it's from a calculator to deteremine kiteboard dimensions to make a foam core/fiberglass or carbon fibre board - popup doesn't translate.

lengte board: 160 cm
breedte board: 37 cm
breedte tip: 22 cm
hoogte tip: 3 cm
stap outline: 8 cm
stap rocker: 10 cm

elliptische outline:
verticale as 18.5 18.44 18.26 17.95 17.52 16.94 16.2 15.29 14.17 12.77 11
horizontale as 0 8 16 24 32 40 48 56 64 72 80

radiale rocker lijn (radius 1066.17 cm):
verticale as 0 0.05 0.19 0.42 0.75 1.17 1.69 2.3 3.01
horizontale as 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80

thanks!

the only dimension i don't comprehend fully based on the text & the diagrams here:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~ebb/kiteboard//html/krommen.html

is "step rocker" - is that supposed to be a concave rocker running lengthwise from rail to rail? (side edge to side edge on the bottom)

JUST getting into the sport now.

got a radsail pro 4m, but it's raining and i haven't flown it yet. (12.5 x 3.5 feet) and ordered a viokite VR8 that's zippable from a 8m to a 6m.

planning on making a board or two or 4 or more as i can make a handful of them for the price of one used one. regardless of whether i use ply, marine ply, foam core, fibreglass, carbon fibre etc etc - i can make many for the price of one.

see thread here with some links to building info:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1442261

i've also read another 7 page thread of how-tos etc.

never heard of a gaastra board... do tell...

edit:

oh. never heard of gaastra.

naish
flexifoil
best
liquid force
viokite
pegas
radsails
north
ozone
flysurfer
libre
jojo

etc etc etc i have heard of as kite manufacturers... but never heard of gaastra.

laying out the cuts to make a jig today.

red cedar core, delrin inserts, proper epoxy, sealer, resin, fiberglass = $125cdn/board fins X 6 = $162cdn dakine footpads & straps = $110 cdn... sooo, $377cdn vs $650-1300cdn for a pro made board. might save $ on fins by buying one of each of the sizes we need (4x2" & 2x1.5") & making moulds of them... making some ghetto fins out of s-glass and resin. if it works, it works - if not, oh well - $5 wasted.

i'm making a 180 or so cm board to learn with, and a 140 something board for later. 2 friends will be making boards along with me. i might also make myself a third cheapie flat ply board with no fins too, as i'm told they're great fun for almost no $.

a number of kiters who travel to surf bring their hardware and just cutout a simple marine plyboard when they get to where they're going. sounds logical.
