It could be, number plates get switched around really easy over here. The one rallye has all the rubbing strips, side repeaters and armoured door plates. The other has'nt. The photo i took was at GTi Inters this year. The other looks like Inters too, where did you find it?

number 31 is owned by Ben Fisher
number 55 is owned by me Richard Tweedle, it was black when i bought it. it is a standard import with the Recaro seat option.
1.) Number 5 is the same car as number 30
Owned originally by Janet Edwardson.
The shell now resides with Darren at G-werks who is rebuiding the car.
2.)Number 65 is written off now and at a breakers yard
3.) Number 75 was owned for 10 years by Bob of Westside VW, it is now with a local West London lad.
4.) Number 7 is a very old picture taken at Awesome GTI's premises. This car had 240bhp and was up for sale about 8-9 years ago on their website, I nearly went to look at it.
5.) Number 21 was built by Neil Woods but sold on.
6.) Number 25 is still owned by Vangelis (he has owned the car since 1995 when the original Oxford Edition built it). It features a 6 speed box, the full feature can be found in Golf Magazine 1995 edition.
7.) Number 33 is owned by Sanj
8.) Number 57 is owned by Craig
9.) Number 64 was built by the Phirm and features a 2Litre FSI Mk5 engine.
10.) Number 67 was built by Pete McKinley and then sold on, the car was then crashed I am not sure it is back on the road or not.

I have not seen my old one around at all it was a blue one and had a sprinter vent onthe right wing tints by pentagon the reg when I had it was I think G314 WYK or soem thing like that will try to dig out soem old snaps

I'm getting itchy hands when I see a Rallye in this condition. You got a nice project on your hands. It's still complete, including al special Rallye bits?
its not complete no, but there are lots of extra and spare pieces and some still newly wrapped from VAG pieces that are now obsolete.
when i can afford to rebuild it, it wont be rebuilt to factory spec, thats all im saying :cool:

Hi i'm new to all this computer stuff, but just to say my name is Richard Walcott, and to people who know me i'm "Wally2bad" or just wally. however on various forums i go by "wallye". (the e is silent of course) i have the pleasure of owning 2 of these fantastic machines and my i say they are the absolute f#ckin nuts! but people who own one already know that. i own No 34 and 98 on your list. 34, i call "The Red Baron" the picture you have of it is from the previous owner had it with his own private plate. is Reg now i have it is G995 EJH. No 98 i call "Cool Runnings" cool runnings means Peace be da journey. Ilook forward to seeing you all my follow Rallye brothers at shows this year espically the UK Rallye Golf show in August.

engine is still the g60 1h just re worked with full blend charger 68mm pulley full ported and flowed head with 268/270 camshaft with vernia. ported and mached manifold with re worked throttle housing

I have just bought this one (G301 WKK). I dont think its on the list. Its in a bit poor condition on the bodywork, a few bits of rust but that should be sorted this week.

The red one in #58 (G60 GWY) is mine. It's an original UK car now with 20VT power from a mk4. I've got the original bill of sale from the UK dealer in 1989! It's got the electric recaros, electric and heated mirrors, electric windows and electric sunroof. It's been off the road for a while due to me buying a house but my plan is to get it back on the road soon. All it needs is a drivers window motor, a speedo cable and a lick of paint on the arches. The original plan was to sell it but I don't think I can bring myself to do it!

I originally imported this car in 1998 i drove it for 2 years and put 40,000 miles on her then sold it to a guy called Simon in Milton Keynes he sold it to Robbie and robbie sold it to Vic. It was sitting on Vic's drive for 8 years and i tried to buy it back off him but said he was going to fix her up and never sell. I did see her on Ebay recently last year sometime..... If you still own her let us know. If you want to know more about the car then i will let you know more about it.

Hi im new from the UK, will be selling my BMW and buying a Rallye as ive always loved them. I know of 4 Rallyes, 2 of which are owned by Yaash Motors London, one is grey and the other is blue, and has an original 16v g60 engine from germany. Its not white, its some weird baby blue colour. Its been on ebay a few times now. A while back sold as a non runner. It was fixed, MOT'd and back on ebay a while later.

Ok mate are you sure its the same one as on Pistonheads rite now? Im after a black one really, id settle for blue or grey for the right car. Want a low mileage example, something under 85k on the clock (miles).
I cant seem to find it on pistonheads which section?. I know of a few some complete some projects.

Still being a non-standard colour means I can paint it black!
Ideally I want a car that is close to original bar a few charger and power mods, needs to be complete and a good runner.
I know of a black one that needs a bit of paint. Good sills, nice black leather trim, standard motor, i'll have to check the miles.
Sounds interesting. I dont mind the paintwork not being the best, as long as its mechanically fine.
It is the blue one i've seen before. I'll make a couple of calls see what i can come up with.

Does it have to be a UK-car or are you willing to import one from the mainland?
I would prefer one already registered in the uk although I havent ruled anything out. Dont know much about importing cars or how much extra it would cost me.
Importing is pretty straightforward if you have the proper registration docs. The hardest part is getting the car over.
Mine was from Germany and I only had one complication in registering it. The original German reg doc was missing the date of production but the DVLA accepted a letter from VW stating it and getting that was suprisingly easy (phoned VW UK and they sent one within a week)
Interesting cheers for that.

It was used for 1 year by the VW garage owner in Germany, then it sat in the showroom for 16 years,
It was then sold to a dealer in London who then sold it to Marty in Glasgow who i purchased it of.
It really is immaculate pictures dont do it justice, never been out in the rain and its as clean underneath as it is on top :)
I have wanted a Rallye for years and was lucky enough to have the money to buy this one,
Its now going to be an expensive ornament lol, but one thats going to be cherished by me :thumbup:
It has electric recaro's and electric windows. it was supplied from the factory with Oz turbo wheels which i have also.

It is my dads,his name is Chris Marr, is off the road at the moment having some major work done. it is a 20vt conversion originally owned by jabbasport. it was bought by my dad and the work has continued with many parts being upgraded changed etc, the most notable, visually, being the conversion to standard round golf headlights, the square rally ones were awful. the car should be back on the road in the next couple of years, my dad now has alzheimers and cannot drive but my brother and i are pushing it forward and will return it to the road, track, and shows as soon as its done. We should be looking at around 500bp once mapped correctly etc.

Just joined the forum after purchasing my first Rallye. I have always wanted one and this one came up for sale reasonably locally a few months ago I had to have it.
She's an import from Germany, with a handful of UK owners. From what I know it seems she has been pretty much of the road for the last 8+ years. I have a big history file I'm slowly trawling through, and she came with all the original German paperwork, service books and medical kit. The 1H engine has been replaced with a TSR 2ltr block & head, with the charger upgraded to stage4.
There's a few bits of interior trim missing that I will try and source over the winter, she needs a machine mop, and full detail. The car is currently having a full service, checkover and belt change at AD Autotechnik and the charger has been sent off to Jabba for a service and checkover.
