Opps slippery fingers meant to say mk1 rocco I wanted to get the low down on the whole thing really good points, bad points, what to look out for ? what are prices like max min etc.

I had a look on the scirocco register and that seems to have a fair bit of info just need to find one in the right colour in the right condition budget will be no more that £2000 for the car and a few more for mods etc.

Cheers
Henry

tell you the truth better to look for a storm although GLS's are more rare but dont have the leather etc.., colours varies alot.. #200 should get you a very tidy although proberely not mint unless you hunt about..look for rust in the boot well, sills,(defo look under the front carpets near the sills rot to buggery there), tops of wings defo take a magnet check the whole car..parts are easy accessable..actually wait a sec..

i have a friend called simon has a '79 model for sale in very good condition knows rocco's well (has 4 Mk1's) and has plenty of spares available,

the Advert :

1979 VW Scirocco GLS

61,000 miles, 1 lady owner up until 2001 when purchased by a chap to use for a year whilst without a company car then i bought it from him, full service history and stamped up service record, 95% of work was carried out by vw and the rest by a specialist, all mot's, tax discs and receipts from new (over £5000 worth of receipts), original owners handbook, had some minor bodywork in the early 90's (not accident repairs) which included the fitting of 2 new vag front wings, a new vag nearside door, a new vag offside door skin and spraying in to match, the repairs are as good today as when they were done and are a credit to the chap that did them, it would take a weekend to bring this car upto concours condition it realy is very good, i am looking for £1500 supplied serviced and with 12 months mot, will be sad to see it go but im unable to start building the new garage until this has gone, pictures can be found here, they aren't great but give you an idea
