Winterwheels are always ugly, that's why you use them during the winterperiod.

I cant agree with you on that, I have nice winter wheels. Loose the BMW hubcaps and put on some VW caps instead!

Here is my winter wheels.

8J steel is perfect I think, and then lose the "hubcaps" (? I think that's what I mean too...)

But this picture looks okay too, 5,5J with "hubcaps"!

Winter is hard on the whole car.

Do what we do here in Canada, Park the car in a nice garage and drive a winter beater.

yeah, but a dutch winter is a little bit different than here in canada.

colder temps and some rrain and maybe some snow as opposed to an average of 36" most parts of the country.

a friend of mine was over there in january and her flight was delayed due to a few cm of snow...the world is different!

Dutch winters suck, not because of the weather but because of the tons of salt they throw on the roads

Not a big fan of the BMW hubcaps...

I lived in Germany for six years, and I will attest that winter is just as hard on cars in Europe. The use of road salt and other stuff to remove ice and snow from roads is the culprit. Especially when temperatures constantly clime above and then drop below freezing.

If you are concerned enough to change the wheels for the winter, than you should be looking into serious corrosion prevention.
