Was there ever a center console for the Polo 1?

Just as the topic says, a friend of mine wants to know if there ever was a console for the Polo 1. He wants one or two as he's currently restoring both a Polo and a Derby.

Blikopener has one. An original one for mounting a radio.
There is also a 'modern' version with room for 3 meters.

Hello, I am the friend PerL was talking about :) Are these consoles vag products, or are they universal consoles matching a number of cars ? Does any one have a part number on any of these ?

Most consoles aren't made by Volkswagen, but by 'Volkswagen' :)

Probably by Kamei, Votex, Fisher or AutoPlus.. (Volkswagen specific 'zubehor': sold in the dealer-shops), so you can call them 'VAG products' :)

There 'specific' Polo/Audi50/Derby, but it's probably possible to rag them up in other cars.

well, then i'll better start looking for some then :) they seme to be extremely rare in norway since no one ever knew there was a center console for the mk1.

Funny thing is, the guy I bought the console from has moved to Norway a few months ago :biggrin:

With a bit of luck and patience you can find one on eBay, though.

I'll try that.. I assume you mean the german ebay ? you see my german really suck, so I'll better look on the .com pages and see what I find :)

IF it's got an VW number, it's be something like this:
86x 863 241

(where the x could be a 1 3 5 for Audi50, Polo, and Derby)
