Mit Artz wurden Ende der 1970er und Anfang der 1980er Jahre PKW bezeichnet, die von der Firma Autohaus Nordstadt, Hannover umgebaut wurden. Der Bezeichnung Artz ging auf den Firmengründer und Geschäftsführer Günter Artz zurück.

Die Basis für die Fahrzeugumbauten stellten die Modelle von Audi, VW und Porsche.

Die Fahrzeuge von Artz waren weltweit bekannt, oft waren sie renommierten Auto-Fachzeitschriften einen Titelartikel wert. Oft wurden Sportwagen zu Kombi-Modellen umgebaut.

Viele Fahrzeuge von Artz blieben Einzelstücke, einige wurden in Kleinserien bis ca. 30 Stück gebaut.

As far as I know they had to alter the complete car the fenders for example are longer than the stock ones... imagine a little parking damage with either one of these babies!

Alter the entire car... That's one way to put it.

The recipe was quite simple. Pop over to your local Porsche dealer, and drive off in a brand new 928S. Put it in your garage, and remove the body from the floorpan. Then, you take a few Golfs, cut them to pieces, and build a new Golf-looking body over the 928 floorpan.

The only standard body parts are the doors.
