According to this months (UK) Top Gear Magazine the new Scirocco won't go into production.....

well offcourse not... why have a sporty car that attracts enthousiasts and keeps them away from the dark scubie side, when you can build a Tuiguan and attract soccermoms.... :rock:

VW Motorsport.com - the inside line

At WRC level, we have rumours that VW could make a Scirocco WRC car. Unlikely to occur for 2-3 years, but nevertheless there is a feeling of change at VW. With a new Chairman in place, a disappointing campaign on the Dakar behind it and perhaps we're on the knife edge of a new direction? VW Racing Germany has also reverted its brand to Volkswagen Motorsport.
