View Full Version : new daily, 4 rings 5 cylinders
Couldn't help myself.
imported from Germany last year by Chris(py).
I liked this thing from the day he bought it, but i wasn't really looking for a new car. untill he gave me the keys and said; "just take it out for a spin and tell me what you think"
When i came back 15 minutes later it was sold. Got it with the Ronal turbo's too.
Told him i couldn't pick it up untill the daily Jetta was sold. Well that's sold and will be picked up next tuesday. So today was the day to pick up my new joy... (the pride part will come after the rust is gone)
what do you guys think??

Like I said in Dutch, sweet ride Tjaap.....!!!!
Good luck
Lars
Cool car Jaap
Remnds me of a baddies car in the James Bond movies :D
I totally love it, Jaap! The old 10-valve 5 cylinder engines are entoxicating, in the sense that you become heavily addicted to them.
Are the Ronals 4x108, btw? Let me know if you want to sell them. Seriously!
yes they are 4X108.. and i def don't wanna sell them, sorry.. they were about half of the price of this deal :lmao:
yes they are 4X108.. and i def don't wanna sell them, sorry..
Well, not now, you don't, but maybe in the future? Please keep it in mind and let me know if you are going to sell them, or the car, in a year or three.
Not only Audiphile, I'm an Audiholic! I'm Auddicted to them :D
And speaking of white Type 43s, here's a white 1977 for sale in Norway. 15000 NOK (kroners) is around 1850 Euros. It looks to be in pretty decent shape as well. This one's equipped with the 2,0 4-banger, shared with the VW LT and Porsche 924. Too bad I don't have room for another car :(

ooooh nice.. love the interior too.. but don't let Chris see this, cause i paid no-where close to that..
Cool ride Jaap! I'm jealous about the engine
The Ronal wheels rocks
Per, do you know what other cars it shares platforms with? might Passat lowering fit?
or do you know of a company that makes anything for these?
Just like Polos, Golfs and Audi 80s, Audi didn't change much of the chassis during the model changes. What this means is that this 100 (Type 43/C2) shares the chassis with the 100 Type 44/C3 and 100/A6 Type 4A/C4.
I don't know how important it is for you guys to have approval on parts like lowering springs (TÜV is needed here in Norway), but if you don't, you should be able to install lowering springs from a Type 44 without any problems at all.
TUV, what's that... ;) no problems here mate
Not only Audiphile, I'm an Audiholic! I'm Auddicted to them :D
Well, maybe this is something for you ;)

Never seen an Audi 100 in 2door configuration
Damnit!
Need to go dry out the keyboard now...
Yeah, 2-doors do exist, but they are very rare, I think they are even more rare than the Avant.
Here's a 2-door converted to a 200, complete with the turbo engine. The 200 was never made as a 2-door.

And here's an Avant, also built to 200 specs. As with the 2-door, the 200 wasn't made as an Avant either.

Rear end of the Avant.

I might as well put in a little bit of trivia as well. The car that became the 100 Avant wasn't actually supposed to become an Audi at all. It was supposed to be a Volkswagen, a model slotted in above the Passat range, but the bosses in Wolfsburg thought otherwise, and the car became the 100 Avant.
the red one is spottless. but it isn't cheap, plus it's a 1.6 automatic.. with 1200KG's that can't be fast...
Who needs to drive fast when you drive in style?

I did see an Audi100 avant on the ringroad of Groningen this weekend for the second time. I saw it a few months earlier with the same old couple driving it..:)
Such a nice car, looks like a passat 32B on steroids :)
This one already a couple of years in the family but only recently registered on my name. We are both almost 31 years old. Starting the 2.5 M-TDI 6-spd conversion this winter... (Stock sucs... ;) ) Ok I keep the appearance as original as possible.
6 till 8 June is a big typ 43 meeting in Heubach Germany.

very nice Bert. do you have a good hook-up for parts around here?
I know my way around. Most of the parts for the Audi I got through the typ43 forum in Germany. (Club site (www.typ43.eu) and the forum (http://74611.rapidforum.com/) also Ebay.de is a good part supplier.
Since I've been modifying diesel engines for almost 9 years there are enough part suppliers for me.
oh nice.. just found the site where i'll be spending my nightshift tonight.
2.5TDI, eh? Really nice!
@Tjaap: .... hihi :D I like the site, but they realy love stock and it seems that they all got more than one type 43.
@PerL: You seem to be one of the first that likes the idea of putting a M-TDI in a C2.
Well, I was thinking about installing one in my 1987 Coupe quattro, but I have since decided to keep my car all original.
heeee nice one dude, another audi in haarlem?
i just love that 5 cilinder sound.
i also love my coupe gt 2.2 from 1986.
it drives like a dream and i'm thinking of selling the audi a4 avant and buy a older(maybe a 100 or 200) one instead.
the space in the car is the same of the a4 so the children dont mind that :D
i have got saterday a meeting and the coupe will be tax't than.
here's mine perfect and original audi coupe.

The sweet sound of a 5 cilinder..
That's a gorgeous Coupe, ingrob! I support your thoughts of selling your A4 and getting a 200, find yourself a turbo quattro, or possibly a 20V. Incredible cars, especially for their time!
mine has a new APK (dutch MOT) since yesterday.. not a single thing wrong, no lights, rubbers anything.. even got a compliment from the guy on having a really clean car.. can't take the credit after only 3 weeks of ownership, but it's def nice to hear i made the right purchase..
That's great news, buddy! Nothing as satisfactory as receiveing the clean test papers.
couple of weeks back i attacked the biggest rust spots with rust convertor.
yesterday i sanded it down and painted over it..
and i took care of the biggest part of the dent in the rear door.
painted it on pretty thick, so when it's cured in a couple of weeks in can wetsand it down and polish it,. so far i'm pretty happy with the results..
the bad side that had the dent and the rust

nasty dents on the hood are still there, but the rust is gone
http://www.volksforum.com/albums/files/7/Img_5997.jpg
rust on rear was attacked aswell.. not perfect yet, but i think wetsanding will help alot

V5's are for smaller cars. Tjaap drives an 'R5'
Lookin' great, dude! I'm so envious of your 43!
so when the hell do i get my radio back?????
whenever you want my old fart.. you want the tape back too? lovely music onthere :lmao:
the tape to. BTW the tape's ment for those burglers who can't identify the unit as a cassette receiver without the damn thing sticking in to it.
and another year of MOT on it.. winter has taken it's toll rustwise though.. just cosmetical, but it seriously needs to be dealt with right now.
BTW, i spotted an identical model to mine...... just 100 meters from my house..
I've seen him parked there 3 times now.
i had a good pic of it, but offcourse i formatted my SD card :(
