Alcohol engine means ALCOHOL ENGINE... more especific Ethanol Engine....
Here is an interesting link that explain all:
Click ME!!! (http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Alcohol_as_a_fuel#The_Brazilian_experiment) :D

Its an brazilian fuel that was developed from sugar cane (that is a renewable source) and is more eficient than gasoline (an 2.0 Gasoline Santana has 99 cv and the same car moved by alcohol has 112.... ).
The only problem was that in winter it was almost IMPOSSIBLE to start the engine..... WAS, because nowadays electronic fuel injection can solve this problem.... ;)

Thanks, FDL...

But remember... Only cars WITHOUT regular maintenance is almost impossible to start the engine in winter. My alcohol engine cars never shows this problem in winter. ;)

See ya!

Thats because you live in São Paulo.... here in Curitiba in winter the temperature goes to -2ºC, -3ºC..... and my father had a Parati Alcohol 1984 (Fox Wagon), that thing in winter was REALLY hard to start.... (it didn't had the gasoline reservatory..... )

In the near future, cars will run on alcohol here as well (as an additive to currently used fuels)

our gasoline have 20 to 25% of ethanol as additive...
