American beer is identical in Alcohol content to the fabled-stronger Canadian beer... we, in Canada, just measure our alcohol by volume & they measure theirs by mass, hence the difference in numbers. (4.5% by mass vs 5.5% by volume for typical beers) different metrics, same alcohol content.

I will agree that most any Canadian/European beer tastes better than American beer though, becuase Americans fuck their beer up using cheap sub-par incgredients such as corn to mass produce their piss-water. (can't really call it beer when it tastes like it does)
