View Full Version : weird VW's
welcome to Brasil... land of funky rebadges largely due to the miserable marriage of Ford and VW in the late 80s. Do a google search for "Autolatina joint venture" if you desire more info

Man... I´m from Brazil...
But Honestly... I agree with you...
There´s some exceptions but these cars are ugly or if you´re a kind o gentleman you can call it "weird"! hahahahaha
Otti, what are the white and green one? early brasil's?

Otti, what are the white and green one? early brasil's?
Well... it´s an antique and rare VW 1600 air cooled... from 1968 I guess... (on perfect conditions! impressive!) in 1970 it has been replaced by the VW TL 1600 a little bit better. Here in Brazil it was nicknamed "Zé do caixão" this is the name of one Brazilian folk charater... the meaning for "Zé do Caixão" in english is like Coffin Joe hahahahaha
"Must be the fault of the ugliness of the car!"
But even with the mixed reviews... it´s a VW classic!

They're probably not weird for Lucas as he lives there, but for a VW fan from europe..... Apart from the beautiful country and perfect travelcompanions the VW's really added a special thing to my holiday.

What´s Up Tjaap
We have some VW from Europe here in Brazil too!
Some VW Corrado, some Rabbits MK1, MK2 and the MK3 (this one is easier to find)... but definetly the Volkswagen changed their car concept design to our public... here we had the first generation of cars that are "squared" and the second one that was more "rounded" (like my VW Gol "second generation")... Now I think that we are on way to get increasingly closer to German and Euro cars!
Now we have in here some Passat (cc), some Jetta, some EOS, Touareg, Polo...
Great Cars! But very expensive too!
Here in Brazil we have a lot of problems with the Government taxes (that´s the cause for the high prices)
About the car design.. I think that the most part of people in here are used with those shapes... and are always "open" for news too!
Come on! I Think that they aren´t so weird... hahaha just a little bit different... hahaha :D
Ok...
I admit
"I´m jealous of Germans and Europeans... Let´s divide this toys!" :shake:

All Right man!!!
We can change!!!
I wish a Rabbit MKI on BBS wheels, slammed with a VR6 turbo charged inside a cleaned bay! That´s It! Simple and objective!!!
I think it would be fair after all, I'm not so picky
hahahahaha

Is that a Cross station / variant ?? More pictures ?

Ah.. the Polo playa actually IS the name of this model. I just thought it belonged to some wannabe OG or something hence the 'playa' bit. I reckon the pronunciation is a bit off though :D Well vamos then.... ;)

What´s Up Guys!
I´ve been out for a while but now I´m Back! :D
Honestly the VW Polo from South Africa is obviously on good shape!
SLAMMED I would say! s2
But It´s weird... FACT!
I don´t know, it seems that the designers wasn´t a hundred per cent confidents about the car shape... a little bit rounded, a little bit squared.
Sorry but...
Result: FAIL (In my opinion) hehehe
