VAG and Porsche - Close Relationship?

Yesterday we discuss on VP Forum about porsche and VW...

We all know that Porsche is independent...And make projects for another brands...Like MB 500E wich is half produced in Stuttgart plant, and even Hyundai Santa Fe with chassis tuning, and others...

But we know too that VAG is close to Porsche like no other brand...Dou you agree with that? What's your opinion about that...

We want to know that cuz personally I think theres more than just a simple colaboration like porsche do with other brands...Not only about the close past...

Theres a lot os commom projects like, 914, 924/944/968 just for example...Ferdinand Piech was CEO of Porsche, later Audi and then VW...He is a dreamer with contribute a lot with all this marks...Specially 917, 928 (V engine with 2 inline 4)...Audi V8 (the same technik) and he makes Audi premium brand...And in VW with W8, W12, Phaeton, Touareg, he makes vw upscale in the market even with Golf IV and Passat 3B/3BG...But now bernd pischetsrieder back to old strategy to challenge with more popular brands...

VOlkswagen and Porsche have very close relations, closer than others, because they're family. They spawned from teh same prototypes, and have kept contact ever since. The latest family project is the Touareg/Cayenne which was developed by VW's and Porsches engineers in companionship. VW also builds the bodywork for the Cayenne.

You also mention Ferdinand Piech, he's also family. Ferdninand Porsche's sister married into the Piech family. Ferry Porsche (Ferdinand Porsche's son, and the founder of the Porsche sportscars) was Ferdinand Piech's uncle.
