View Full Version : JoostVW - Netherlands
First of all, This is me:
http://i34.tinypic.com/2czue5x.jpg
After almost three years on this forum, I thought it would be time to open a page on the international part of the Volksforum.
I must look like a pervert to you because most of my post are on these pages:
Tatooed chicks
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70607
The official HOT ass thread.
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66013
Dub's and chicks thread
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5133
but I think its because we don't have such pages at the dutch chapter
and I really don't have anything else to say in english.
But then I thought: I do have something.
My project and other car are still not on the international chapter.
So here they are:
my '84 Golf MK2:
few months ago:
http://i44.tinypic.com/1h34sh.jpg
last winter it was still in one piece:
http://i35.tinypic.com/nq8ec0.jpg
it once was a 1.6 petrol engine with automatic gearbox.
and I'm currently placing a 1.9 TDI (AGR) engine in it.
for this swap I needed a donor:
http://i37.tinypic.com/35jauwz.jpg
and a temporary ride:
http://i38.tinypic.com/2dccn53.jpg
that's it for now, have to go to work.
I'll keep you posted
keep posting here
the international forums can always use more activity :)
well, here is some activity:

http://i55.tinypic.com/2ajp35d.jpg
http://i55.tinypic.com/dhczyh.jpg
I finally have a wiring loom :D
I will have to sort it out a bit because it's pretty much but the engine itself almost has every connector connected now.
rolled it outside last week.

http://i53.tinypic.com/rlamo4.jpg
front with brand new GTI radiator.

The temporary car (The rat) witch I drive for over a year already, passed the MOT and on this photo still has the winter tires:
http://i53.tinypic.com/ezmrlh.jpg
and fitting the P's and screwing it down again :D
http://i54.tinypic.com/2hs6fpf.jpg
planning a photo session for it now.

AH finally some progress on the red one!
http://i51.tinypic.com/2jbs602.jpg
And another dub in the family :D
Just traveled 300 km to the other side of Holland to get this little thing for my girlfriend.
It's a simple 1.4 8V multipoint.
Needs allot of polishing and finishing but she has a pretty handy boyfriend ;)
Already a little bit closer to the ground (but that will be enough for her).
I'll post some more pics when the Alloy's are mounted.

Last week I helped my buddy Carlo with his '82 Mexican Beetle.
Some work on the brakes and a little ;) welding to pass the M.O.T.
Today he came by to show it off and have a little cruise with it with me.
http://i53.tinypic.com/2h54dpd.jpg
My older brother came by to show of his freshly bought Mk1 convertible.
It's a US model with power steering, cruise control and airco :D
http://i53.tinypic.com/347i8ah.jpg
My brother in the white shirt, the one on the left is Carlo ('82 Beetle) and some friend of my brother at the right.
http://i55.tinypic.com/21ajz8m.jpg
It became a little GTG with 8 cars :)
http://i51.tinypic.com/2yxnlnk.jpg
Unfortunately my little brother then came home with his Mk3 Golf.
Had an accident :( And I hope I can fix it for him but I don't now if the chassis is still straight.
http://i52.tinypic.com/mmrg2u.jpg
Since it's more of a blog post anyway:
I also went to the car show: AutoRAI at the RAI in Amsterdam.
I have seen a lot of crap but also some nice rides, I'll post some pics soon.
Grtz Joost

What hit the mk3? looks like my door in the audi after a tuck hit it..(slowly..)
It was a Ford escort wagon.

Is the chassis stil straight or not?
damn....looks kinda shitty.
Dust Dust.
That's been a while, so lets update this thing.
did some work on the TDI:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2a5da51.jpg
fitted a new oil pump + oil sump. Also turned the oil cooler (heat exchanger) 90 degrees so it doesn't hit the engine mount anymore.
after that I mounted the front back on, bumper + grills.
The rat mk2:
http://i44.tinypic.com/inepw2.jpg
took some pictures and sold it to a friend later on. (Carlo with the '82 beetle).
He uses it as a winter bucket.(and still runs :) with 290.000km on de odo)
So in replacement of the "88 Rat MK2 came my new daily:
A '92 MK3 Golf with Vento front (oh I'm sorry, Jetta front ;))
It's a GL with a 1800 8v engine and some cheap coilovers.
this is an old picture:
http://i39.tinypic.com/35d7uwl.jpg
The yellow foil on the headlights where removed before I bought it because the Police didn't like it.
It was camo green once, the previous owner painted it black but he forgot the roof, bonnet, mirrors and logo's.
While I was at work I drove it inside:
http://i43.tinypic.com/bg6zp.jpg
to mount a new stereo:
http://i42.tinypic.com/20uvjtt.jpg
And fixed al the lights in the dash.
Found this in the garage:
http://i44.tinypic.com/sbu5xu.jpg
mounted
http://i39.tinypic.com/rhk95f.jpg
I know my front bumper lip is broken, I ordered a new one a while ago but keep having problems with it (broken during transport, wrong one's).
A week later I painted the bonnet:
http://i43.tinypic.com/mw7joy.jpg
and I bought this 16x:
http://i43.tinypic.com/11udowm.jpg
To fit my Fiat/Lancia spec Borbet A's
16" x 7.5 4x98.
http://i41.tinypic.com/4twowh.jpg
Also been busy with our Porsche project.
Since a year I've been helping my friend by building a Porsch 944 and making it ready for the circuit.
He wants to race the "Youngtimer cup" at several dutch circuits.
And while doing that collect (sponsor) money for children with cancer.
We've come a long way so I'll post some pics of the progress:

oh hai kut! ;)
the Porsche is coming together nicely.. Been a while since i checked that thread. And the daily looks much better without the rusty "wascoolbefore2006 hood"
I'll post some new pics of the Porsche soon. Must be done by subday actually.
But I dont have much time this week to work on it. Team captain doesnt like that very much... :(
I'm planning on painting the rest of the daily black soon (roof, mirrors etc.).
But first: M.O.T.
Need a new windscreen and some other stuff.
New windscreen is already bought. We're planning on placing it this saturday :).
Placed the new windscreen last Saturday:

Dust dust,
That has been a while.
The black mk3 is sold, the red TDI is "on hold". A house is bought.
And currently looking for a rental garage/ storage for the TDI. But can't find anything with electricity.
Currently driving the Lupo and it's getting boring.
I wanna drive an old bucket again! :drive:
