true, but you have always some 5 litres of water on board .. why transport it,cos when I went into my house
I'll get my water for "free",and better yet,it's for consuming and it doesn't have the sweet and greasy taste
like you're water in your car :p

Kruk@b, you have more snow than me right now! :D
I cant remember last time we had a winter with so little snow as this year, we got 8 cm yesterday, and another 2 cm last night, that's the most snow we've had here since christmas, when we had 15 cm... So I'm enjoying this winter for sure! We often dont get much snow here, as I live down south in Norway...

Aha !! ... When I think of Norway,I think snow !!
We went to Trondheim 9 years ago during the summer, but high in the mountains there was enough snow.
I would love to came back to Norway, but then we wanted to travel to the Nordkapp, and back via the Lofoten.
Sold two NOS barndoor rear schocks to a guy up north, and he invited us over when we were in the naburhood.
Not this year,but maybe in 2006 ....
@Tommy,you can boil your eggs, but can your girlfriend blow her hair ??

Today
Picture taken today, I hope spring is around the corner....

that's the first pic i've seen of your type3 ever.....
It is? Wow.... I posted it in the aircooled forum on Vortex when I bought it, but didnt get any replies. Have a look at my galleries instead ;)
The 1970 (http://public.fotki.com/Volkswagen/variant_2/)
The 1973 (http://public.fotki.com/Volkswagen/variant/)
Both cars are in a somewhat sad shape right now, but the 70 will probably be on the road this summer. I'm not restoring it, rather doing some kind of custom with primer paint and 17" wheels. I just need to patch up the rust holes, paint the car, and put in new brake lines.
The 73 needs a proper restoration, I dont know when I will get the time for that. It needs a lot of work, among the work that is needed is to put in rust free heater channels (which I have in storage, personally brought home from California)

Well, there are a 'view' (;)) type 3 owners around here, maybe you'll have more luck :)
It also fills up the international aircooled section ;)
but the 70 will probably be on the road this summer ...

just curious, but what type of 17" are you going to use ??
Most 17'teeners are 7J wide, and you don't have enough room in the frontwheelarces :(
You can use Tourwreck 6,5x17 steelies, but rumors are that those wheels came in
Beemers pcd,and that's 5x120 ....
I'm using Momo GT2 in 7.5x17 ET35, and from what I've been told on both Shoptalkforums.com and Germanlook.com, they will fit both in the front and the rear.

I don't think there's any problem at the rear, but at front it's a different story,
unless you want the turning circle of an ocean liner :D
User-x his ride is running C2 8J's (et52) at the back with 205/45,and up front he's using 6J (et52)
with 175/50x16,but his turnig circle is -even with these small front wheels and tyres- quiet big ...
http://www.xposure.nl/aircooled/notch/notch04.jpg
btw,his car is dropped at the rear one outer spline, and up front to outer splines ... what are you planning ??
I am planning on dropping it a little bit (2 splines up front, 1 rear), but only after the wheels are fitted, to see how much's needed.
