Wow. I havent updated this thread in ages!

Me and Mikey Reed pulled the drive train from the 78 and now its all in pieces... car is still on jack stands and she is waiting for me to put some rollers on her and get her completely stripped.

So plans are:
-Ute gets KW v3's and frame notched. Fenders pulled and rolled & touched up by Mikey.
-Louise is getting gutted and stripped and once I get my new wheels (dont bother to ask I wont tell you :P) I will know in what other direction I need to go (strut tower modifications, engine lifted, axels & control arms shortened, etc...). Gonna try to get Mikey Reed to help out with the body stuff some more (underbody work) and in the meantime get the drive train all sorted and bulletproofed.

Hopefully she will be done for 2012. I am in no rush - as long as i can enjoy Ute ;)

Marc, I am seriously considering QUITING my job to go to 'see this year. It would be the first time in 10 years that I am unemployed. I am so fucking pissed i cant see straight. I got the time but those weeks are already booked.

2 months after this question was asked... I am waiting for the centers and will be painted shortly...

Meanwhile, The 1980 was dropped off at RMA Autobody for a complete respray. Needless to say I am not happy with the way some things had worked out as of late.

Atleast I picked up another MK1. This one is a 1977 Eastern Washington Rabbit with a sweet ass worked 16v swap..

-80 is in the shop for a complete respray
-swiped the H&R ultra ultra lows off the 78..
-compomotive lips chromed
-compomotive centers are color matched (OK the first color was WRONG but they are getting resprayed).

well I got the centers resprayed the proper and exact matched color to the decals.. I made the mistake of trusting a stoner kid to choose the color the first time :shake: :screwy:




while I rebuilt the Compomotives, Murph worked on the actual car..

got up at 4AM, drove 2.5 hours to polish Ute's bumpers and rocker trim.

I'm back, and tired as fooook, kut :tard:

Wheels have rubber & hold air.
H&R UULs are going on car.
New super tough and clean rockers are on the car.
Almost ready for primer.
Tomorrow is test fit for the wheels to see if the fenders need more work.
