A few months later, I finally got my current state registration sorted and my thermostat issue fixed as well. Drove around a bit yesterday. Damn it feels good to be a gangster :D

Today I had a dream come true and finally tracked down the original owner of Ute.

Today I spoke with Ute, the original owner of this car. She is now in her 70's and is an owner of an automatic Jetta. She complained to me that to this day she still looks for the clutch pedal when she comes to a stop in her automatic car. She is still a German citizen but has lived in the US for over 50 years.

I asked her if she was OK with me naming the car after her; she laughed and said yes.

She thanked me for a perfect Sunday as German won FIFA and she learned about her car that she missed very dearly.

Today was a good day....
