Domi, I totally understand.

Anyway, this engine is develloped for is Direct Injection, that is what makes it powerfull. If you ask me: the idea of the engine is dead in this orange car. The future is Direct Injection so hope they can make it work.

I have seen some of the devellopment (including in cilinder movies) so I know where its power comes from!

I don,t need to make my MK1 that way to by to an populair guy. ;)

:iamwithst

and about the FSI-system

this engine is still running on FSi the only thing that's changed is the control of it

there's no way you can put an other system on this engine because of the
adjustments made by the manufacturer of it

RubenD 17-12-2006 01:22

You could, but I wouldn't see the use of doing so. Why would you kill the power!? Does the vario on the camshafts still work?!

"If" the angine is still running on the fsi then wy has it now only got 166 bhp??
They say all the time that turbo now pruduces 0.4 bar.( what is standard pressure??)
I don.t believe that. Why changing the turbo pressure????? The engine was almost new as they say.

So he is from an g60 160 bhp to an 2.0i 16VT with now onlye 166bhp :D
I think that it is just for the looks and the attension that he gets.

If he fits a stand-alone management like KMS of DTA, he will get his bhp.

MelG60 21-12-2006 19:47

He is running Digi-1 injection and ignition (look at the injectors in the inlet manifold) so the engine isn't FSI any more. Because of the high c/r (10,5:1 i believe) he wont be able to run high boost and much ignition advance because of the normal injection, if he changes to FSI back with the OEM managemant or a standalone with FSI capability (so no KMS or DTA) he would have standard performance or more.

he piz... why you held out on your latest project man?? :)
