Golf Rallye 2.0tfsi+haldex gen2
Hello everyone this is my first thread so please excuse any mistakes.
Anyway i want to show my "baby" and the work stages so far. this is how i bought the car.Its been turned into a van by its previous owner :shake: and it was used to carry animal food and farm tools so mostly driven on dirt roads :shake: until this rear side accident stopped the torture and came to me to save it from the scrapyard  |
Looks like a load of work!
Any of the work done jet? |
A lot of work ? yes but enjoying every minute
now a little update some pictures from the work progress until today 2 months ago the used rear left wing is welded on a bit of rust on the floor but repaired properly after that the car came to my place and i began to strip it to the bone i found that it had a mercedes exhaust on |
1 month ago , more stripping
the result is a place full of parts this is what we changed to the front suspension domes ,vw polo '00 parts the front top mounts that i will be using are not wearing off so quikly and the turning at low speed is much improved , hopefully |
Nice. Great save. We need to get a few of these rallyes over for the rallye meet in the UK.
|
wow, good luck with the build!
|
WOW!!
RESPECT! for all the work you did.and have to do! Good luck with this project! keep us informed! |
Very nice project! Where did you get those sideskirts?
|
Nothing but respect. Great you are saving this rallye..!
|
thank you all for the support.
VEEDUBBER the sideskirts are custom made with 1.5mm iron sheet insteed of 0.8 of the original item. |
update time
more rust repaired after many hours of cleaning the body and the mechanical parts, the time came to start the engine bay preparation starting by mounting on an 1.8T block with corrado gearbox on the original mounts to get the right measurments and now after building the jig its time for the 2.0T block with the 6speed quattro gearbox to be hanged on the jig and fabricate the mk5 engine mounts perfect aligment for the propshaft finished the right side and on to the left and done with the left to and the final test with another (complete this time) 2.0T engine with the right gearbox |
that jig is a great idea.. and damn, how many engines have you got scattered around that garage?

please wear some goggles while grinding if you want to keep your eyes ;)
|

check out the difference |
holy crap mate, you got some bitch-ass collection over there:eek::wow:
|
looks like a VW-nut's heaven :D
Impressive. You sell parts as a job or is this all hobby? |
it's my job , we import spare parts from Germany directly from AUDI and VW and we are probably one of the 5 bigger and more complet parts stores in Greece.
if anyone needs parts from 2005 model V.A.G.s and above feel free to ask. i dont usualy sell parts outside of the country but with the crisis here i consider creating an ebay store. |

|
Can you give us an indication of the prices?
For instance what price do you ask for a haldex? Or a R32 engine? |

Any updates
|
no updates for now because of the summer vacations and the unbelievable heat in the garage.
hope to begin working again until the end of the month ohh and after i finish a friends project A4 '07 1.6 into rs4 |
hello guys i missed you all.
it was a very hard winter here in greece and it will go on for a long time as it seems (economically speaking) . anyway time for updates for the work its been done in the past few months. the rear axle needed to be chopped to clear the haldex will give more updates soon |
Why chopped ??? I don't understand ???
|

if i place the diff under the axle it sits too low and the propshaft and axleshafts dont allign properly. if you want to see a finished project with the same job on the rear axle check this guys site they are very good at this kind of jobs. http://www.dsg-corrado.de/index.php...mid=46&catid=25 |
Here is mine:
and I don't see anything wrong ;) |
I hope everything works fine in both our rallyes when they hit the road. It is my first old model car restoration/transformation project and i hope i have taken the right path. I usualy make original models upgrades like (audi A4 into RS4,Golf 1.4 into GTI, A3 into S3 etc.) so i am used to bolt on work.
|

Well in that case this will be a whole new experience for you  |
i received the parts from the CNC to make the box that will receive the haldex diff
hope i mesured it all correct so the assembly will be easy this is what the box will look like when the parts are welded together after the welding job is done we have to make the holes and the threads to receive the diff |
I think you should reconsider what you are doing ;)
Here is a picture how the Haldex sits on my Rallye  and you lifting it up... I think you will have problems with the propshaft  |
the mesuerements i took from the synchro diff before i cut everythink down are exactly as the haldex so if i use a prop with the same size as the original rallye item i shouldn't have a problem . anyway we shall see .
|
any updates?
