Christian over at The German Car Blog hipped us to the fact that German car rag Auto Bild has photos of the new-for-‘08 Voklswagen Scirocco. Vee-Dub’s sport coupe redux seems more Corrado-esque than Sciroccan to us, given its high beltline and beefy body, but the flames of memory obviously burn hotter for the older moniker.

It looks definitely more Corrado like than Scirocco. I think that was kind of a mistake. I agree that Scirocco will carry more emotional weight as it brings back a longer history for the company than the Corrado, which was somewhat unloved as a car and a name. For that matter, is corrado a name for one of the winds off Africa or something like the Scirocco is? VW likes that type of shit lately so that could b a reason as well.
