Woerthersee 1985!
 

Hi!
I was directed at this site by DUTCHMANia, he asked me to post this here.

I found an old magazine the other day from 1985 with some photographs and a report from Woerthersee, 1985! The quality of the pictures isn't great - the paper is rather poor quality and my scanner isn't good either.


















According to the report, the organisers tried to limit the number of cars to 1000, but 1160 GTIs turned up with over 3000 people. The event was opened by Nikki Lauda!

I've got some more pics! I saved these off from a website at least 2 years ago. I have no idea what site it was - if anyone knows, please tell me! They are from Woerthersee 1988 and 1989...

Whow! Even more cool pictures! Great to see some evolution in tuning. In comparance to 1985 simplified colors and stripings but even wider bodies and kits :)

I know the feeling - I got back to England and looked through as many other galleries I could find. I missed SO MANY cool cars! I guess that's what happens at such a large event! Can't wait for the 2005 one!

I think I have, but I'll go and check it out again... It makes me sad that it's so long until it's on again, I had such an amazing time at last years' - the first european show I had been to! Won't be the last!
