Default European Motor Code Info

Hey guys...I recently picked up a 2E bottom end out of a SEAT...I was looking around for pistons that are bored over inbetween 20-50 over...
I checked Gebert Autohaus here in Kaiserslautern, Berger Autotiele and Roiger as well...

Does anyone have any specs they can pull up on this motor or pistons that would work? I know it was put in VWs from 91-94...It is a 2.0l and had 115hp...same as the ABA...

Any info would be great and someone who has dealt with this motor as all

Also, would I be better in just using the old ones and honing the walls and lightening and balancing the bottom end, or trying to find some pistons

Anyway, thanks guys...later

Dave

The pistons in the 2E engine are 82.5 mm, I cant find any oversize pistons stock from VW. All the 1984 cc engines uses pistons this size, and are found in Golfs, Jettas, Corrados, Audi 80, 100, A6 with various engine codes.

As long as the piston bores arent worn, you should be ok with honing the walls and installing new rings.

The head should fit, but I'm no wizard when it comes to these engines.

2E is the lumb used in the 8v GTI... so similar to other blocks, probably everything will fit

Does the 2E use 159mm pistons like the ABA? Id be extremely surprised if the head wouldn't match up (even the 20v head fits early blocks) Double check the piston wristpin size in the rod before buying pistons...The 159mm rod motors use a 20mm wristpin and most other Pre-Mk4 motors use a 22mm wrist pin. One thing to keep in mind

2E is the highblock with 159mm rods. 20 mm pins.
