lol...I like those 3 rules...but a long and boring winter has got me itching for a change....where it stands, the interior will remain the same for now

but, there has been a transformation of sorts. And, the good thing is that I have now completely ridden myself of any rust on the car Colour is still the same though.

well..it's been a long and winding road...so alot of progress on the mk1 and alot of trial and error to try to get this to how I envisioned the project.

enough talk and more pics

cleaned out the bay as best as possible for now...body shop ended up closing it's doors for good so I only had a week or so to finish the job or my car was getting locked in

re-installed the 8V for now, just cleaned up all of the wriing and added a little bling. I am working on a carbed 16V so I want to do it right the first time, and chrome the hell out of it for Paul

brought it home last weekend, still ran like a champ except the battery was so drained that it needed a new battery.

Also, decided to change the local game here a little..since everyone is looking for big dish rims and they are becoming a dime a dozen, well, why not take it back a little

how she is sitting right now, until I can notch the pass side frame rail for more axle room to slam this thing down a little more.

I should get around to the frame notching this weekend but for now, my oil pan is saved

Cheers,

I haven't forgotten Paul, the carbed 16v will take me most of the summer to complete.

I want to do it right and show proper respect for the chrome!

I'll post some pics of the engine bay in a couple of days...the 1.7l 8v is running surprisingly well and the mechanical fuel injection is very reliable...

.
well, local show today but the wind and weather was horrible..forgot my camera but luckily a few friend's brought theirs..

Only shot of the engine bay, not enought light but oh well

Decided to roll a set of 15x6,5 chromed RM's for a while, they were collecting dust in my garage.

Luckily, I was joined by a few friend's to give some old school soul in a sea of mk3, 4 and 5's...

and, a little souvenier from my 6 year old's toybox

If this is not Paul approved then I quit this game...

they were done in Germany by a friend. And it was expensive because of the 2 piece nature.. But the wheels were almost free so it was worth it.

Problem is now that I have 2 sets of chromed RM's

Things to do this weekend:

-replace some grommets to avoid any unnecessary leaking from rain
-replace door scapers
-detail the engine bay
-and more importantly, get my bloody framed notched so I can lower this thing down again

I swear to GOD I had no idea that they were actually copper & nickel plated. I wrongly assumed they were just powder.

My sincere appologies!

...sounds like you have some money to recoup on the 2nd set

if you are doing the 16v swap why not wait to notch it when you do the swap Jimbo?
