Seventeen years ago, Ken Imhoff watched Cannonball Run and became so enamored with the Lamborghini Countach in the film, he hand-built his own, in his basement. In what we imagine might be the most Jalopnik build ever undertaken, Ken designed and fabricated his own tig-welded frame, installed a thoroughly massaged 351 cubic inch V8 with a ZF-25 5-speed transmission, hand-formed the aluminum body over a meticulously measured and accurate body form, and finished it all off in a beautiful metallic gray. It took Ken 10 years to complete the project, and the results — as you can see both in the gallery and in the video below the jump — are amazing. There's only one problem, when you build a car in a basement — how do you get it out? Find out below.

Waarschijnlijk rijd hij wel een stuk beter de orginele countach is niet echt een drivers car.

Liever dit dan een echte Lambo...

Weet je wel hoe vaak die Italiaanse rotzooi stuk gaat of voor een beurt naar de dealer moet ??

Ik weet zeker dat deze eigenbouw een stuk onderhoudsvriendelijker is.

Alles wat hierboven staat kan ik wel beamen, maar toch, het IS geen lambo... en dat weet je als eigenaar maar des te goed... Sowieso is het geen lambo motor, dat had ie eigenlijk ook moeten regelen...

Als hij de carroserie nu zelf ontworpen en getekend had, dan had hij gewoon zelf een auto gemaakt, nu heeft hij een soort van replica gemaakt..

Ook respect hoor, maar misschien was dat andere nog leuker geweest?

True, maar iets namaken is veel moeilijker dan zelf een ontwerp maken aangezien je bepaald lijnenspel moet namaken wat voor velen onmogelijk is.

Wees blij dat het geen Lambo motor is, je wilt niet weten wat een servicebeurt voor zo'n ding kost.
Met deze Amerikaanse V8 van 515pk heeft hij een veel langere adem als zo'n overtoerd Italiaans blokkie.
