Day 9:
Visited the VW Classic Show in Irvine CA today! This was one of the events we definitely needed had to do!!   Here I am with my friend Mr. Ron Petro and the original drawing of the 2012 VW Classic poster. As you can see he drew me and some of my cars on it!! Awesome, thanks buddy!!

Geniaal! Goed om te weten dat er zoveel te doen is rondom LA, 15 july ga ik (zoals het nu lijkt) naar Hot VW's Drag Day, ook georganiseerd door Bugin mensen?!
Zit dan een week voor mijn werk daar, had al uitgevonden dat de So-Cal speedshop daar zat, maar die broeders in Anaheim gaat nu ook op de verlanglijst! Ik zit die week verder in San Luis Obispo, daar vlakbij zit GoWesty, ook niet onaardig voor busliefhebbers. Mochten jullie nog tips hebben, dan hoor ik het dus graag!

Got some new stuff up on www.volksfahrer.nl !!
During the Classicweek our good friend Ron Petro (artist that designed the Classic poster) took us to the Schley Bros. Mr. Paul Schley is a VW dragracing-legend and he showed us around in his MASIVE garage that is packed with racing memorabilia. Thanks for the hospitality mr. Schley!! And thanks Ron for taking us to that place.     And mr. Schley still knows how to drive!  While most shows during the Classicweek are hectic the BBQ parties are allways a great way to relax and have a chat with the many international visitors that come over for the week. And ofcourse to meet up with the dozens of good friends that we’ve met during previous trips to LA! Thanks everybody for opening up your houses, garages and backyards! And let’s not forget; the great food!!

BIG upload!!!!
I uploaded another batch of pics on www.volksfahrer.nl! This time some pics of the NHRA (National HotRod Association) museum and carshow. Real cool cool show with way more to see than on just another VW show! LOL!!     I've got a weakspot for woodys!!! [img]  [/img]  Some Shops that we visited like So-Cal speedshop, Mooneyes, Octavios and Pierside in Huntington:     Doubledoor, semaphored, doubleflipper seat, SUNROOF! early mango bus!!! I just wet myself.... again!  So Cal Speedshop:  I'd love to see this paintjob on a Razor Ghia!! (type34)   Pierside Huntington:   I also uploaded some lot's of pics of the Pre Classic Cruise at Nicks:   Don't know but this smurfblue and black actually works for me!      And last but not least... some non VW stuff we did! Me at some restaurant...  Our buddy Ron was a happy fellow after I told the girls it was his birthday... (which it wassen't btw LOL!!)   Have fun with all the pics!!! I'll be uploading the Classic and OCTO pics as soon as possible!!!

Ja zeker super! Het was voor mij al weer de 3e classicweek en 5e keer
dat ik in LA was dus ik ken er inmiddels ook al aardig wat mensen. De auto's zijn fantastisch maar de gezelligheid met iedereen daar maakt het af. Er word vaak negatief gesproken over Amerikanen maar op een enkeling na ken ik er eigenlijk alleen maar zeer vriendelijke en gezellige mensen!
