Even with all those options and NOS parts ... it's still a lot of money.

It sure is expensive!
But to build a bus like that would probably cost you more...

And nicest thing is.... for that amount of money it doesn't have the correct taillights That's sort of things make me doubt about the quality of the rest....

Meetlint said that he can put it back into shape
But I bought him a better barndoor front bumper at the Raoul meeting in Belgium,
witch I visited with Volkswouter in 2003 ... at that meeting there was also a
solid alu barndoor front logo for sale and some kdf parts

The taillight on the 55bus are of the mid '51-'54 type, these are really dark. On the other way I don't think the would use the old stuff first (like fifo or something ) why should they? The type after the barndoors is nearly the same but the have a flat lense and are a bit more brighter red. The place of the reflector is also weird, there mounted in the corner IF the are on post55 busses. Not that I know everything about this subject but I've been reading alot because the right taillights wil cost me about 1000 euros, I would never forgive myself buying the wrong lights

I'm sure you're right Mr Split, but you cannot ignore that VW made a mess off there busses in those days
Barndoor bumper on post barndoor, wrong taillights, and on ... a couple of years ago there was an article
in the Volksworld with all the changes explained during the production of the type2,and sometimes there
where more than 5 or 6 (small) changes .... in one month !!!

three different taillights used on barndoors ...

check out www.barndoor.dk !!
